Home is Everything!

Home is where faith begins, love grows, culture lives, and God is honoured.
There is something deeply peaceful about a village home. Looking at this traditional house standing quietly among the tall trees, surrounded by fresh mountain air and the beauty of God's creation, reminds us that true happiness is not always found in wealth, modern buildings, or crowded cities. Sometimes, it is found in the simple life that God intended from the beginning.
Before there were cities, skyscrapers, highways, or shopping malls, God created a home. In the Garden of Eden, He prepared a beautiful place for Adam and Eve—a peaceful home filled with everything they needed. Home was God's first gift to humanity. It was a place of love, work, worship, and family. Even today, every home should reflect those same values.
Village life teaches lessons that many people living in towns and cities have forgotten. In the village, the sound of birds replaces the noise of traffic. The fresh breeze carries the scent of trees instead of pollution. Children run freely across open fields instead of spending their days behind screens. Families gather around the fire, sharing stories, laughter, and meals together. Neighbours know one another, helping each other during times of celebration and hardship. Life may be simple, but it is often rich in relationships, culture, and faith.
By contrast, cities and towns offer opportunities for education, employment, healthcare, and business. They are centres of development and innovation. However, they also bring challenges. Many people live under constant pressure, racing against time, working long hours, and carrying the heavy burden of stress. Despite being surrounded by thousands of people, many feel lonely. Families sometimes become disconnected, and the fast pace of life leaves little room for meaningful relationships or quiet moments with God.
This does not mean that cities are bad or villages are perfect. Every place has its blessings and its challenges. What truly matters is the values we carry wherever we live. A loving family, a heart that trusts God, respect for others, honesty, and kindness can exist in both the village and the city. Yet, the simplicity of village life often reminds us of what is truly important.
A traditional house like the one in this picture is more than timber and grass. It represents generations of history, culture, sacrifice, and love. It has sheltered children who later became parents, protected families through storms, and witnessed prayers, celebrations, and tears. It stands as a symbol of identity and belonging. No expensive mansion can replace the warmth of a home filled with love.
As society continues to modernize, we should never forget our roots. Development should not erase our traditions. Technology should not replace family. Wealth should not replace contentment. Progress should not separate us from God.
Whether we live in a remote village, a busy town, or a modern city, we should remember that our greatest home is not built by human hands. Jesus Christ has promised to prepare an eternal home for those who love Him. Earthly houses will one day fade away, but the home God is preparing in heaven will last forever.
So let us treasure our homes, honour our families, preserve our cultures, and remain faithful to God. For in the end, it is not the size of the house that matters—it is the love within it, the peace that fills it, and the presence of God that makes it a true home.
"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain." — Psalm 127:1
Home is where faith begins, love grows, culture lives, and God is honoured.
